Following the release of our new website, and working on the SSL certificates for the custom domains, we have come to realize that our plans and pricing are as well in need of a revamp, to bring together a new image for Business Catalyst. There are several reasons that brought along this change, but some are quite frequently encountered even in Partner comments when discussing with our support team:
- our descriptive naming does not help for customers who use the webCommerce plans for the webapps feature, not necessarily for the e-commerce features
- since we no longer offer a webBasics to new customers (only legacy CCM customers still have this available), the webBasics+ plan looses it's reference point.
- we are working on a new set of features that would strengthen the top plan available on BC and offer more features to our advanced customers
- our Liquid features are coming out of Beta after a long period of testing in real life scenarios
Business Catalyst pricing starting with end of May 2017
With this in mind, we have designed a new format for the BC plans, together with new pricing points and feature set included. As a note, these new plans and pricing scheme apply only to new sites, coming on-board starting with end of May 2017. All existing customers will continue paying the exact same price and enjoying the same feature sets they were first launched with.
Our new plan and pricing structure starting with May 30th 2017 will be:
This pricing is for plans purchased starting with May 30th 2017, on a yearly frequency, and includes a 10% discount. Monthly pricing is adjusted accordingly. Australian pricing will update based on these new US pricing as well as adjustments based on the present currency exchange rate of 1.3 AUD to 1 USD.
Main features included in each plan
While our lower plans gravitate around the same feature set as before, our new Platinum plan is designed for the Medium Business that requires enhanced security as well advanced e-commerce features such as a Recommendation engine or Abandon Shopping cart features. It will come with an SSL certificate included by default, with access to webapps and ability to code advanced features with the help of Module_data.
UPDATE on March 31st - Following the feedback received from our partners, our Gold plan will also include module_data and is intended to be an entry level plan for customers interested in having the basic e-commerce tools at their disposal, as well as a default of 15.000 newsletters monthly, to be able to better reach out to their customers.

Existing plans are available for purchase until then, with the current feature set allocated to each of them. Existing sites already upgraded to a paying plan until that date will continue on their plan and pricing until a change is triggered by the customer or partner, whether that is a frequency or a plan type change.
These new plans and features will launch with an introductory offer, at an exact date to be announced, towards the end of May 2017. We are looking forward to your feedback and hope to see a new and refreshed face to Business Catalyst in 2017.
UPDATED ON MARCH 31st - At this time we can also announce that the pricing for the SSL overage will be of $80 per year (AUD109 for our Australian partners) and that the Partner site will not include the SSL certificate for custom domain. Partners can continue to use the SSL certificate provided by the worldsecuresystems domain.
